Comparação entre métodos invasivos e não invasivo de determinação da capacidade aeróbia em futebolistas profissionais

Abstract: The anaerobic threshold (AT) may be determined by protocols that use fixed blood lactate concentration (OBLA -onset of blood lactate accumulation) and others that apply individualized procedures as the lactate minimum test (LACmin). The measuring of the aerobic capacity from AT demands the use of sophisticated equipment and high cost per athlete, which makes it limited. The 12-minutes Cooper test is applied as an alternative way. The main objective of the present study was to compare the exercise intensity of … Show more

“…However, a considerable limitation of the procedures in laboratory is its ecological validity; , once the training and competitions occur on the field, the evaluation procedures should be performed in the same environment as well (12,21) . Nevertheless, the importance of the O 2max evaluation procedures on treadmill at laboratory conditions is highlighted, especially medical-sports through simultaneous cardiologic evaluation, making its performance crucial at least twice; one at the beginning of the season and the other in the middle of it, with the field tests being able to be used in other moments as means of control for the technical staff (4) .…”

“…This procedure, despite its controversies (4,5) , is considered to be valid for soccer, since significant correlation of the O 2max with the final classification of the team in the competition (6) and with some performance variables in the match such as: completed distance (6)(7)(8)(9) , number of performed sprints (6)(7)(8) , time of activities at high intensity (7,9,10) and number of interactions with the ball by the player has been found (7) . However, an important limitation of this evaluation, especially for team sports, is that the procedures are time-consuming, require trained staff and costly equipment (11,12) . Among the field tests, the Margaria test (13) (MT) has been highlighted in the evaluation of soccer players since it allows adjustments in the distance of the used dislocation, which should be completed in the shortest time possible and with constant velocity for estimation of the O 2max .…”

“…Non-invasive procedures which can estimate the aerobic fitness of soccer players, such as the yo-yo test 16,17 , shuttle run 5 or even the 12 min test 6,7 , which estimate aerobic power (VO 2max ) and aerobic capacity (anaerobic threshold), respectively, can be found in the scientific literature. However, in the non-invasive procedures none physiological variable is measured; what is measured is only the exercise time or stage in which the athlete entered exhaustion.…”

“…The total distance covered in the 12-minute test has been used to predict the VO 2max (VO 2max = [distance -504]/45), while Silva et al 7 proposed a linear regression equation to predict the anaerobic threshold velocity (determined with the use of the lactate steady concentration corresponding to 4.0 mmol.l -1 ) using the v12 min. However, the exercise limit time at the intensity corresponding to the anaerobic threshold (maximal lactate steady state, minimal lactate and others) is equal too r higher than 40 minutes, where the maximal lactate steady state test itself uses exercise sessions with 30-minute duration 13 .…”
