Chromatographic characterization of products isolated from chrome shavings

Abstract: Gel permeation chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography were employed for separation and chemical characterization of products isolated from chrome shavings. After enzymatic hydrolysis, the products isolated were peptides of higher molecular weight. Peptides of lower molecular weight and free aminoacids were the main products using sulfuric acid in chrome shavings solubilization. Glycine (17%) , glutamic acid (10.6%) , alanine (9.2%) , and arginine (8.2%) were the principal amino acids found.… Show more

“…The reason behind this gradual improvement of tensile values is addition of carbon quantum dots in ABS exhibit better toughness and inferior stretch than the pure ABS core sandwich structures. Moreover, silane treatment on carbon quantum dots dispersed it evenly with in the ABS and improved bonding and reduction in voids is observed 38,39 . The 20 phr of C‐dots addition shows the increment in flatwise tensile strength by 24% than the pure ABS core values of tensile strength and elongation at break show abnormal increase which goes against the trend that with the increase of C‐dots.…”

“…Partition coefficient, designated k av , was calculated using a kit of standard proteins (Sigma-USA) (12300 -78000 Da) with the following equation: k av = (V e -V 0 )/(V t -V 0 ), where V e was ellution volume and V t the total volume. Plot of k av x logarithm of average molar mass was linear for an average molar mass (Daltons) of 16949 (myoglobin), 30000 (carbonic anhydrase), 42700 (ovalbumin), 66250 (albumin), and 78000 (ovotransferrin) 22 .…”
