T-Cell Project: an international, longitudinal, observational study of patients with aggressive peripheral T-cell lymphoma

Abstract: Peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCLs) comprise a heterogeneous group of neoplasms that are derived from post-thymic lymphoid cells at different stages of differentiation and with different morphological patterns, phenotypes, and clinical presentations. PTCLs are highly diverse, reflecting the diverse cells from which they can originate and are currently sub-classified using World Health Organization (WHO) 2008 criteria. Peripheral T-Cell Lymphomas account for 5%-10% of all lymphoproliferative disorders in the We… Show more

“…Five-year overall survival and progressionfree survivals were 44 % (95 % CI 40-47) and 33 % (95 % CI 30-37), respectively. The ALCL, ALK+ showed the best 5-year survival rates (73, 95 %CI 61-82) [32]. These data were extremely well received and considered to be essential in the efforts to better understand the natural history of these challenging and heterogeneous diseases, as well as the emerging patterns of care these patients receive around the world.…”

“…This study is designed as a prospective collection of information that are potentially prognostic for newly diagnosed patients with the more frequent subtypes of PTCL-NOS and AITL and to better define clinical characteristics and outcome of the more uncommon subtypes (extranodal NK/T cell lymphoma; enteropathy-type T cell lymphoma; hepatosplenic gamma-delta T cell lymphoma; subcutaneous panniculitis-like T cell lymphoma; anaplastic large-cell lymphoma, T/null cell, primary systemic type) [30,31]. Thus far, this registry has provided several platforms to overcome previous challenges in collecting data.…”

“…The study was conducted in compliance with the Helsinki Declaration of 1975 as revised in 1983, was approved by the appropriate research ethics committees and required each patient to provide written informed consent before registration. This study is designed as a prospective collection of information that are potentially prognostic for newly diagnosed patients with the more frequent subtypes of PTCL, not otherwise specified (PTCL‐NOS) and Angioimmunoblastic T‐Cell Lymphoma (AITL) and to better define clinical characteristics and outcome of the more uncommon subtypes (Extranodal NK/T‐cell lymphoma; Enteropathy‐type T‐cell lymphoma; Hepatosplenic T‐cell lymphoma; Peripheral gamma‐delta T‐cell lymphoma; Subcutaneous panniculitis‐like T‐cell lymphoma; Anaplastic large‐cell lymphoma, T/null cell, primary systemic type) . Data collection was done via electronic Case Report Forms (eCRFs) at a dedicated website (http://www.tcellproject.org), with the adoption of SSL03 technology assuring protection in web communications of subject's clinical data.…”

“…O linfoma linfoblástico do tipo T é abordado em vários manuscritos e, dentre eles, o projeto internacional de células T, 3 com a participação de pesquisadores de instituições do mundo inteiro, sinaliza os aspectos do estudo observacional sobre linfomas periféricos agressivos de células T.…”
