Resumo: OBJETIVO: avaliar a efetividade da realização de ações educativas em disfagia orofaríngea para a equipe de enfermagem pediátrica em um hospital de ensino. MÉTODOS: pesquisa avaliativa. O estudo foi realizado em hospital de referência terciária, vinculado ao Sistema Único de Saúde. A amostra foi constituída por 62 profissionais entre enfermeiros, técnicos e auxiliares de enfermagem que atuam na assistência à pacientes pediátricos. Aplicou-se um questionário para verificação do conhecimento prévio sobre disfagia, posteriormente foi realizada uma ação educativa e sua avaliação imediata. RESULTADOS: o conhecimento de enfermagem em disfagia evidenciou-se como positivo, principalmente no quesito do conceito com 96,77% de acertos, sintomas com 83,87% de acertos, causas com 74,19% de acertos, consequências com 70,97% de acertos, identificação do profissional habilitado para reabilitação com 85,48% de acertos e importância da reabilitação com 87,10% de acertos. Concernente ainda às respostas esperadas, ressaltam-se por não estarem de acordo: as fases da deglutição (50%), exames específicos (45,16%) e posição para alimentação via oral (32,26%). Justifica-se a necessidade da educação continuada, pois 85,48% dos participantes assinalaram que é importante a realização de treinamento. CONCLUSÃO: o estudo concluiu que o conhecimento fragmentado da enfermagem sobre disfagia, contudo, interessada e disposta para aprender, se for disponibilizado o conteúdo por meio da educação continuada. Haja vista, que os participantes da pesquisa após a ação educativa, expressaram a ampliação dos conhecimentos sobre disfagia, e reconheceram a importância destes, bem como expressaram o desejo de receber mais informações sobre essa e outras patologias.

Objetivo: discutir o sintoma e suas implicações na prática clínica do enfermeiro em unidades de terapia intensiva (UTI). Método: estudo teórico, de análise reflexiva, no qual foi abordado o conceito de sintoma a partir de como ele surgiu no campo da medicina, até a dimensão do sintoma considerada na psicanálise. Posteriormente, foi proposta uma reflexão da compreensão de sintoma que permeia a prática clínica do enfermeiro em UTI. Resultados: para se conhecer o sintoma, faz-se necessário conhecer o sujeito que é cuidado e percebê-lo em sua singularidade, por meio de uma escuta focada na sua história de vida, para que permita criar condições de aparecimento do sujeito do inconsciente. Conclusão: o enfermeiro em UTI não pode limitar o seu processo de trabalho exclusivamente à condição de adoecimento do paciente, mas deve antes de tudo se perguntar quem é esse sujeito e qual sua história de vida, considerando a dimensão do inconsciente.ABSTRACTObjective: to discuss the symptom and its implications in the clinical practice of nurses in intensive care units (ICUs). Method: in this theoretical, analytical reflection study, the concept of “symptom” was approached in terms of how it arose in the field of medicine, through to the dimension of symptom considered in psychoanalysis. The proposal was then to reflect on the comprehension of symptom that permeates nurses’ clinical practice in the ICU. Results: in order to know the symptom, it is necessary to know the subjects cared for, and to perceive them in their singularity, by listening focused on their life histories, so as to create the conditions in which the subject of the unconscious can appear. Conclusion: ICU nurses cannot limit their work process exclusively to the patient’s condition in terms of illness, but must first ask themselves who this subject is, and what his or her life history is, to consider the unconscious dimension.RESUMENObjetivo: discutir el síntoma y sus implicaciones en la práctica clínica del enfermero en unidades de terapia intensiva (UTI). Método: estudio teórico, de análisis reflexivo, en el que se abordó el concepto de síntoma desde cómo surgió en el campo de la medicina, hasta la dimensión del síntoma considerado en el psicoanálisis. Posteriormente, se propuso una reflexión de la comprensión de síntoma que está presente en la práctica clínica del enfermero en UTI. Resultados: para conocer el síntoma, se hace necesario conocer al sujeto que objeto del cuidado y entenderlo en su singularidad, por medio de una escucha enfocada en su historia de vida, para que se pueda crear condiciones de surgimiento del sujeto del inconsciente. Conclusión: el enfermero en UTI no puede limitar su proceso de trabajo exclusivamente a la condición del enfermarse del paciente, sino debe, ante todo, preguntarse quién es ese sujeto y cuál es su historia de vida, considerando la dimensión del inconsciente. Dysphagia is often found in stroke patients and is associated with clinical complications such as pneumonia, dehydration, and malnutrition, 1 therefore, besides functional aspects, dysphagia may impact quality of life with emotional, physical, and social implications. 2 Early detection of dysphagia reduces mortality and admission time, consequently lowering costs with hospitalization, 2,3 in this perspective, bedside clinical evaluations help decision-making as they are more economic, allow for immediate treatment initiation, and are non-invasive procedures 4 . However, despite commonly employed, the literature lacks consensus concerning the parameters that should be part of bedside clinical evaluations. 3,4 Voice is produced in the vocal tract and is the result of the interaction between vocal fold vibration and the resonance system, among other roles, the larynx works in phonation and protection of the airways; thus, when the protection mechanism is compromised, voice production may also be impacted. 5 The presence of dysphonia in stroke patients is common 6 and figures among the parameters investigated in cases of suspected dysphagia 4 since the reduction in laryngeal elevation, inefficient glottal closure, and weaker protection of the upper airways are some of the predictive factors for aspiration risk. 7 Both voice production and
