Purpose: to compare signs of depression among children with and without learning disorders, and also to investigate whether there are gender-based differences in depressive signs between these groups. Methods: 20 children with learning disorder and 20 children with typical school performance, aged between 9 and 12 years old, were studied. The investigation of the depression signs was performed by applying the Child Depression Inventory.Results: children diagnosed with learning disorder have a higher frequency of depressive symptoms compared to children without learning difficulties. Conclusion: the signs of depression varied according to age. Gender comparison revealed that girls had a higher incidence of depressive symptoms, especially in the group of children with the disorder. Keywords: Learning Disorders; Depression; Learning RESUMO Objetivo: comparar os sinais de depressão entre crianças com e sem transtornos de aprendizagem, e ainda, investigar se há diferenças nos sinais depressivos em relação ao gênero entre os grupos. Métodos: participaram do estudo 20 crianças com transtorno de aprendizagem e 20 crianças com desempenho escolar típico, entre 9 e 12 anos de idade. A investigação dos sinais de depressão foi realizada por meio da aplicação do Inventário de Depressão Infantil. Resultados: verificou-se que as crianças diagnosticadas com transtorno de aprendizagem apresentam maior frequência de sintomas depressivos em relação às crianças sem dificuldades escolares. Conclusão: os sinais de depressão variaram de acordo com a faixa etária. A comparação entre os gêne-ros revelou que as meninas apresentaram maior incidência dos sintomas depressivos, principalmente no grupo de crianças com o transtorno.

Purpose: to compare suggestive signs of stress in children with learning disorders (with and without speech-language intervention) and in children without learning problems, and to identify suggestive signs of stress among groups according to the gender of the participants. Methods: the study included 25 children with learning disorder. Of these children, 10 were diagnosed, but without intervention and 15 children were receiving speech-language intervention. Also 25 children without any learning problems participated in the study. In all groups, a children's stress scale was applied.Results: it was observed that 43% of children with learning problems without intervention, 56% of children with learning problems in intervention and 83% of children without learning problem, showed warning signs for child stress. These differences were not statistically significant. In addition, ware not found differences between genders. Conclusion: in all groups, there was a high frequency of warning signs for child stress, showing that this may not be a determining factor in academic achievement in the study sample. Keywords: Stress, Psychological; Learning; Learning Disorders RESUMO Objetivo: comparar sinais sugestivos de estresse entre crianças com transtornos de aprendizagem (com e sem intervenção fonoaudiológica) e em crianças sem qualquer dificuldade escolar, além de verificar sinais sugestivos de estresse entre os grupos de acordo com o sexo dos participantes. Métodos: participaram do estudo 25 crianças com transtorno de aprendizagem, 10 com diagnóstico, porém sem intervenção e 15 em intervenção fonoaudiológica, e 25 crianças sem queixas de aprendizagem. Em todos os grupos foi aplicada uma escala de estresse infantil.Resultados: observou-se que 43% das crianças com transtorno de aprendizagem sem intervenção, 56% das crianças com transtorno de aprendizagem em terapia e 83% das crianças sem o transtorno, apresentaram sinais de alerta. Estas diferenças não foram estatisticamente significantes. Também não foi encontrada esta diferença entre os sexos. Conclusão: nos dois grupos houve alta frequência de sinais de alerta para o estresse infantil, mostrando que este pode não ser um fator determinante no desempenho escolar na amostra estudada.

ResumoO presente trabalho teve como objetivo identificar as produções científicas nacionais e internacionais que tiveram como foco a investigação da relação entre criatividade e dificuldades/transtornos de aprendizagem. Em nível nacional foram consultadas as bases de dados SCIELO, PEPSIC, CAPES e BDTD e no internacional, as bases APA, ERIC, PubMed e Scopus, sem delimitação de tempo. Como resultado, constatou-se a existência de 57 produções internacionais e cinco nacionais. As análises identificaram que não houve diferenças estatísticas significativas entre as médias das produções das últimas três décadas e que as investigações focalizaram principalmente o transtorno específico de leitura/Dislexia, o uso da metodologia quantitativa e o emprego do Teste de Torrance. Alguns nomes dados aos grupos investigados na maioria dos trabalhos não denotaram com clareza as origens das dificuldades de aprendizagem -se seriam ou não decorrentes de transtorno de aprendizagem. Concluiuse que são necessários novos estudos sobre a temática, nos quais se caracterizem melhor os grupos investigados e a nomenclatura utilizada.Palavras-chave: Pesquisa científica; distúrbios da aprendizagem; distúrbios do desenvolvimento. Creativity in individuals with disorders and learning disabilities: research review AbstractThis study aimed to characterize the national and international scientific production focused on investigating the relationship between creativity and difficulties / learning disabilities. Nationally were consulted the SCIELO databases, PEPSIC, CAPES and BDTD and internationally the APA bases, ERIC, PubMed and Scopus without delimitation of time. The results indicated the existence of 57 international and five domestic productions. The analysis found that there were no significant statistical differences between the averages of the past three decades productions; the investigations have focused mainly on the specific reading disability/Dyslexia; use of quantitative methodology; and using the Torrance Test.Some classifications given to groups investigated in most studies do not denote clearly the origins of learning disabilities, whether they were or not resulting from the learning disorder. We conclude that further studies are needed on the subject, provided there is a better characterization of the investigated groups and classifications used.Keywords: Scientific research; learning disorders; developmental disorders.
