Objective: To estimate how reliably and validly can medical students encode reasons for encounter and diagnoses using the International Classification of Primary Care, revised 2nd edition (ICPC-2-R). Methods: For every encounter they supervised during an entire semester, three family and community physician teachers entered the reasons for encounter and diagnoses in free text into a form. Two of four medical students and one teacher encoded each reason for encounter or diagnosis using the ICPC-2-R. In the beginning of the study, two three-hour workshops were held, until the teachers were confident the students were ready for the encoding. After all the reasons for encounter and the diagnoses had been independently encoded, the seven encoders resolved the definitive codes by consensus. We defined reliability as agreement between students and validity as their agreement with the definitive codes, and used Gwet’s AC1 to estimate this agreement. Results: After exclusion of encounters encoded before the last workshop, the sample consisted of 149 consecutive encounters, comprising 262 reasons for encounter and 226 diagnoses. The encoding had moderate to substantial reliability (AC1, 0.805; 95% CI, 0.767–0.843) and substantial validity (AC1, 0.864; 95% CI, 0.833–0.891). Conclusion: Medical students can encode reasons for encounter and diagnoses with the ICPC-2-R if they are adequately trained.

This study aimed to characterize the profile of morbidity among users of family health teams in the northeastern macroregion of Minas Gerais, Brazil. This is a cross-sectional population-based study, developed with the teams of the Family Health Strategy (FHS). It was conducted by data collection, using semi-structured questionnaires with specific instruments adjusted for three categories of professional teams of the FHS: physicians, nurses and community health agents (CHA). We used the International Classification of Primary Care, second edition (ICPC-2) to encode morbidity. Information was collected from 17,988 people, and 10,855 (60.3%) were females; 1,662 (9.2%) questionnaires were related to care by the physician; 2,530 (14.1%) were related to care by nurses and 13,796 (76.7%) corresponded to visits by and meetings with the CHA. The main health problems were: circulatory diseases (especially hypertension), musculoskeletal problems (especially back pain) and diseases of the digestive tract (especially intestinal parasites), which accounted for more than 40% of the medical consultations. Nonspecific complaints and visits related to women's health were the most prevalent in the care by nurses. In meetings with CHA, complaints about respiratory, musculoskeletal and cardiovascular diseases were the most pointed. The morbidity profile observed does not differ substantially from the results of other studies. Small differences can be attributed to regional particularities.

Corona Vírus Disease (covid-19), é uma doença infecciosa pandêmica do coronavírus. Os pacientes que apresentam a forma mais grave da doença necessitam de suporte hospitalar, em sua grande maioria, por um longo período de tempo, comprometendo o sistema muscular, principalmente os dos membros inferiores. Este estudo objetivou analisar prontuários de pacientes que foram acometidos por covid-19 e passaram por período de hospitalização. Utilizou-se abordagem quantitativa e o levantamento de dados ocorreu no mês de Maio de 2022. Utilizou-se um formulário próprio e analisaramse as variáveis de idade do paciente, sexo, patologias preexistentes, sequelas apresentadas pós covid-19, condutas e/ou intervenções realizadas pelas equipes. A maioria dos pacientes apresentaram faixa etária entre 50 e 60 anos, sexo masculino, com patologias preexistentes, tais como hipertensão e diabetes Mellitus. As principais sequelas pós covid-19 foram fraqueza muscular e fadiga respiratória e principais condutas empregadas foram exercícios respiratórios, treino de força e resistência muscular e exercícios aeróbicos. Concluiu-se que a maioria dos pacientes que procuravam as unidades de saúde, eram encaminhados para outros serviços de saúde. Outrossim, por se tratar de uma patologia que ainda requer elucidações aprofundadas, faz-se necessário maiores estudos quanto à ampliação do atendimento do fisioterapeuta neste contexto.
