Abstract:A Síndrome da Apnéia Obstrutiva do Sono (SAOS) é uma doença sistêmica cujos sintomas principais são o ronco e a sonolência diurna. Um estreitamento da faringe que ocorre durante o sono, decorrente principalmente do relaxamento da musculatura que a envolve e de alterações anatômicas locais, acarreta em um aumento de resistência à passagem do ar.
