Show more

“…This limit is related to the increase in evapotranspiration and percolation of excess water resulting from the soil sandy texture. These results differ from those found by Sousa et al (2008) Water use efficiency (WE) of chamomile subjected to different irrigation rates (150,100,75,50,25 and 0% of the ETo), organic fertilizers (cattle and poultry manure) and fertilizer rates (3 kg m -2 -a1 and b1; and 5 kg m -2 -a2 and b2).…”

“…The following WUE values were observed in some fruitproducing species: tomato, 12.5 kg m -3 ; watermelon, 24.3 kg m -3 (Morais et al, 2008) and melon, 30.0 kg m -3 (Sousa et al, 2000); tuberous roots, such as sweet potato, may reach 20.0 kg m -3 (Mantovani et al, 2013). Silva & Queiroz (2013) studied lettuce and observed WUE of 14.1 kg m -3 .…”

“…Table 2 shows that the reduction in water evapo transpiration depth (consumed) promoted proportional loss on productivity which explains the similarity in the water efficiency use for these treatments. SOUSA et al, (2000), studying WEU on melon crop under different irrigation frequencies in the field , obtained estimated values of 28.283 kg m -3 . Similar results were observed by PIRES et al, (2013) and tensiometry, respectively.…”
