Abstract: Este estudo discute a relação entre a memória de trabalho e o desempenho dos leitores em tarefas de compreensão de textos escritos, e tem como objetivo investigar a relação entre memória de trabalho e compreensão da leitura através da identificação dos fundamentos teóricos que sustentam a hipótese de que a memória de trabalho, componente da função executiva do cérebro, esteja associada a habilidades de compreensão da leitura.
