Resumo: Este estudo visa identificar práticas organizacionais requeridas para gerar inovação em empresa de tecnologia da informação. A pesquisa investigou como ocorre o desenvolvimento de capacidades que são consideradas críticas para o exercício de atividades voltadas à inovação Palavras-chave: Inovação; Capacidade estratégica; Práticas organizacionais; Empresa de tecnologia de informação.Abstract: This study aims to identify organizational practices required to generate innovation in an information technology company. The research investigated how the development of capabilities considered critical for activities related to innovation take place from both specific organizational characteristics and joint resources. Two structural practices for innovation were valuable: the development of technology and market targeting. The research had qualitative approach and was carried out through an exploratory and descriptive case study. The case was developed in the Softplan company, one of the largest system management companies in Brazil that develops softwares for building industry, infrastructure activities, transportation and construction works, judiciary system and general public administration. The company has over 1.500 customers in Brazil and abroad and maintains alliances with global technology suppliers and agreements with several universities, laboratories and research institutions, supported by research and development activities. Semi-structured interviews were carried out with managers, along with documentary research and on-site observation. The analysis of the Softplan company showed incentives to creating and maintaining an organizational attitude favoring innovation as a routine process. Practices developed in organizational programs were identified aiming at creation and selection of ideas, acquisition of knowledge, and incentive to integration between professionals for emergence of organizational learning.

Pese a la reconocida importancia sobre la explicitación del conocimiento dentro de la gestión del conocimiento, este proceso ha sido mayormente estudiado desde la perspectiva interna. Es decir, considerando únicamente a los trabajadores como actores de la explicitación, dejando de lado que con frecuencia las fuentes de conocimiento son actores externos. El objetivo de este trabajo es evaluar si existen diferencias significativas entre las empresas que hacen explicitación del conocimiento de forma interna, versus las que incluyen actores externos en este proceso. Para ello, se aplicó un modelo de red en el que los nodos representan actores internos y externos y los vínculos dirigidos dan cuenta de quién es la fuente del conocimiento y quién es quién es responsable de la explicitación del conocimiento. Se aplicó el modelo a 21 pequeñas empresas de servicios colombianas y con base en los resultados obtenidos se encontró que es posible clasificar a las empresas en cuatro categorías según su tendencia a mostrar más o menos explicitación interna, y más o menos explicitación abierta. Los resultados sugieren que existen perfiles de explicitación con mejor desempeño que otros.
