“…A study that was conducted with ICU professionals from a Brazilian university hospital found that, although emphasis was given to aspects involving hygiene, aesthetics and physical comfort, such as the minimization of pain, frequently the reduction of psychological, spiritual and social suffering was left untreated, and the establishment of a friendly relationship between health care professional, family and patient went unaddressed 13 .
