Primeiro registro de Pachycoris torridus (Scopoli, 1772) (Hemiptera: Scutelleridae) em pinhão-manso (Euphorbiaceae) em Alagoas, Brasil

Abstract

RESUMONotifica-se a ocorrência de Pachycoris torridus (Scopoli, 1772) (Hemiptera: Scutelleridae) em Igaci (Alagoas), atacando a cultura de pinhão-manso, Jatropha curcas L. O inseto, até então não constatado na região, assume relevância econômica pela natureza dos danos, ocasionando infestação em 100% das plantas.Termos para indexação: Jatropha curcas l., insecta, heteroptera, pachycorinae. ABSTRACTThe occurrence of Pachycoris torridus (Scopoli) (Hemiptera: Scutelleridae) in Igaci (in the state of Alagoas, Brazil), is observed attacking the physic nut (Jatropha curcas L.) The insect, until then not verified in the region, takes economic relevancy considering the nature of damage, causing infestation in 100% plants.

Occurrence of Pachycoris torridus (Scopoli,1772) (Hemiptera:Scutelleridae) on Physic Nut(Jatrophacurcas) in Northwest of Sao Paulo,Brazil

The fruits attacked by P. torridus become unviable presenting initially dark and deformed appearance, which results in subsequent fall and loss of product [5]. Thus, the damage caused by these insects to the fruits of physic nut has been reported to decrease the productivity of the oil used as a raw material for biodiesel [5,6].…”

Avaliação de danos causados por percevejos em sementes de Jatropha curcas

“…Segundo Saturnino et al (2005), o pinhão-manso apresenta grande rusticidade e poucos registros de ataques de pragas, devido à exsudação de látex cáustico pela planta. Contrapondo essa afirmação, Micheletti et al (2010) registrou a presença de Pachycoris torridus (Scopoli, 1772) (Hemiptera: Scutelleridae) em pinhão-manso na região de Alagoas, Brasil. Outros relatos também foram feitos por Beltrão et al (2006) em observações preliminares Para determinar a massa de mil sementes, procedeu-se a pesagem em balança de precisão com resolução de 0,0001 gramas, sendo utilizadas oito repetições de 100 sementes.…”
