Fora… Show more

“…Moreover, the authors considered that the heteroscedastic model fit itself to HR data. In our study, confirming the findings of the referred authors 12,13 , we observed similarity in the AT moment obtained through ventilatory graphic visual analysis and NIRS in healthy elderly men, as well as through mathematical analysis of HS model applied to ventilatory, HR, and HHb values. Temporal similarities between methodologies suggest the validity of using any of these methodologies for determining AT, at a minimum, in individuals with similar characteristics to the cohort assessed.…”

“…In the study by Pozzi et al 13 , who compared the Hinkley's mathematical method and the heteroscedastic model to V  CO 2 , HR, and RMS data in healthy elderly individuals, there were no significant differences between mathematical models and graphic visual analysis. Moreover, the authors considered that the heteroscedastic model fit itself to HR data.…”

“…This method is considered as gold standard, since it allows the observation of the moment of loss of linearity of the variables, that is, the expression of the VCO2 curve is superior to that of VO2. 13,14 In this way, the examiner was previously trained by means of a theoretical/practical course of realization and analysis, in order to extract the data of the respiration-breathing platform of the ergometer Vmax (Carefusion®) as PDF file (Adobe Acrobat Document®, Windows 10) and perform the plotting for the EXCEL software (Windows-10), whereby, manually, it would move the LA demarcation course by the graph until the moment of loss of linearity. The Figure 1 represents the ventilatory variables VO2 and VCO2 obtained breathto-breath, as a function of time expressed in seconds, with manual graphical analysis performed by the visual visual method.…”
