Show more

“…These include the Ligero, 20 Kissinger, 21 and Matusita 22 methods. These models have been used in studies on the kinetics of glass crystallization for various glass–ceramic systems; 23–30 in the development of glass–ceramics from residues 1,2,5,6,14,31 and to study the crystallization of mullite from different materials, 16,19,32,33 among others.…”

“…Because it is rare and almost nonexistent in nature, due to training conditions, ie high temperatures and low pressures (Schneider et al 2008;Schneider & Komarneni, 2005, Vieira et al, 2007, present deposits are not enough to supply a growing market due to new applications found (Monteiro et al, 2004). …”

“…Due to the technological importance and widespread industrial use of mullite, which is rare in nature as a mineral, a number of processes to produce synthetic mullites have been designed 1 . One of these methods involves the preparation of mullite from topaz mineral 7,8 , which is a fluorine aluminum silicate whose chemical formula is…”

“…. This is a very attractive option, since highpurity colorless topaz is abundant in nature and its gemological or commercial value is low 8 . Moreover, the transformation of topaz to mullite is a clean procedure which does not form chemical residues, in line with the principles Green Chemistry.…”
