Dermatitis neglecta: relato de dois casos

Abstract: Few cases of dermatosis neglecta have been reported in the medical literature, although the diagnosis is well-known to dermatologists. Recognizing this condition avoids unnecessary, aggressive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This case report discusses two cases of this condition in female patients in whom the dermatosis developed as a result of deliberate or unconscious neglect of personal hygiene. “…Dermatosis neglecta (unwashed dermatosis) was first described in 1995 and the skin lesion clinically can look like brownish hyperkeratotic lesion that resemble to the TFFD, and these lesion are the result of avoiding washing 7 8 . All of the lesions can be rapidly resolved with normal washing with soap or alcohol swab as well, which dermatosis neglecta could be differentiated from TFFD.…”
