With the aim of reflecting on the use of digital media in activities against drug use and analyzing the process of creating memes on this topic by 6th year classes at Celina Fialho Bezerra's EMEB, in Cuiabá, the research methodology used was action research. There is relevance in understanding this impact of drugs, from the context of students in a peripheral school, and the creation of memes is a strategy that mobilizes informal language, closer to their reality. However, a collection of memes produced during the research provides an intersectional look (COLLINS, 2017;BUENO, 2020) at the emergence of representations of black men and how dehumanizing stereotypes can be associated with reflections on Law 10.639. It appears that the meme can enhance a message in an ethical and respectful way, with creativity, but it can also materially naturalize control over certain images of some social groups, which does not fail to generate important reflections in students' formation.
