Transition metals supported on al-pilcs as catalysts for C6H5Cl oxidation

Abstract: In the present work, clays pillared with aluminium and impregnated with transition metals (Fe, Co and Cr) were prepared, characterised and studied as catalysts in the oxidation of chlorobenzene. The pillared clay was synthesised using a natural montmorillonite from San Juan (Argentina) as the starting material and an aluminium polycation solution. The catalysts were prepared by impregnating the pillared clay and then calcinating at 500ºC. The catalysts were characterised by XRD, temperature-programmed reductio… Show more

“…Similar results have been observed in previous work with UHMWPE. 27 On the other hand, the presence of the carbon/clay particles significantly increased the H M values to ΔH M 193-252 J g -1 and also the crystallinity to 65-83%. These results indicate that the carbon/clay particles are likely playing a role as nucleating agents.…”

“…Pure montmorillonite clay showed the typical peak at 2θ ca. 8° corresponding to the basal plane spacing d 001 , 27 associated to the lamellar structure of the MMT. After CVD at 700 °C, the d 001 diffraction disappeared indicating the collapse of the lamellar structure.…”

“…The incorporation of nickel species into the 1.0 MD was achieved by either ion exchange [28] with Ni(NO 3 ) 2 or by impregnation-decomposition method [29] using, Ni(acac) 2 . The extent of ion exchange is limited by the CEC value, while the impregnation-decomposition method enables the introduction of higher amounts of nickel.…”

“…The applied acid treatment conditions were chosen so to enable only partial dissolution of the raw material. Chosen acid treated bentonite was further modified with nickel either by ion exchange [28] with Ni(NO 3 ) 2 or by impregnation/decomposition method [29] with nickel acetylacetonate, Ni(acac) 2 . Glassy carbon electrode was modified with the obtained materials.…”
