“…The isotactic polypropylene obtained from the homogeneous system SiMe 2 (Ind) 2 ZrCl 2 (Figure 13a) is formed of small and indefinite crystals with amorphous regions. The presented morphology is due to the presence of several stereoerror, characteristic of polypropylene produced by metallocene catalysts [14] . On the other hand, the polymer obtained from the supported SiMe 2 (Ind) 2 ZrCl 2 /HM ( Figure 13b) showed smaller amorphous region, and therefore greater crystalline regions, compared to the iPP obtained with its precursor.…”

“…However, the beginning of the 1980s witnessed the emergence of a new type of catalyst: the metallocene catalyst, which proved to be a homogenous system capable of polymerizing olefins. Although metallocene compounds research has been carried out since the 1950s -when the ZN catalysts were developed, -these compounds have had a lower productivity when compared to the ZN catalysts (Marques et al, 1998). In turn, research on metallocene compounds slowed and focus was placed upon ZN systems.…”
