Psychometric analysis of the scale for the predisposition to the occurrence of adverse events in nursing care provided in ICUS

Abstract: Objective: to present the result of the validity and reliability studies concerning the Scale for the Predisposition to the Occurrence of Adverse Events (EPEA). Method: construct validity was based on Principal Components Analysis. Results: reliability verified through Cronbach's alpha indicated good reliability (structure α=0.80; process α=0.92). Conclusion: based on its psychometric indicators, the EPEA can be considered a valid measure to assess the attitudes of nurses in relation to factors that potentiall… Show more

“…The Trail Making Test helps in the evaluation of sustained and alternated attention, as well as of the individual's motor function. The accounting of errors was made from the third error made by nurses, as described in some studies (1,23,25) . It is worth noting that, in M2, the time of performance in Trail Making Test B presents variability and a greater asymmetry.…”

“…Os 13 itens finais se mostraram discriminativos. Os índices de precisão pelo método de Alfa de Cronbach para as duas dimensões podem ser considerados satisfatórios para essa escala, concordando com a literatura (24) e considerando a metodologia adotada (25,26) , pois ficaram acima de 0,50.…”
