Objective: To measure the levels of stress, anxiety, and depression of nurses working in ICUs, relating them to levels of attention before and after 24 hours. Method: An observational, quantitative, analytical study with 18 nurses undergoing an inventory of stress, anxiety, and depression, as well as assessment of attention levels and psychomotor functioning. Results: Sixty-one percent showed positive for stress. Depression was observed in 33%; and anxiety in 99.9%. A strong correlation between stress and depression (ρ = 0.564 with p <0.05) and anxiety (ρ = 1 with p <0.05) was observed. There was a weak correlation between stress and task execution time in M2 (ρ = 0.055) for TMT A, a fact that did not occur in M0 (ρ = -0.249). Conclusion: The study shows that the workload of the nurses working in 24-hour shifts in the ICU is correlated with high levels of stress, decreases in the attention process, and psychomotor decline. RESUMO Objetivo: Medir os níveis de estresse, ansiedade, depressão dos enfermeiros que atuam em UTI, relacionando-os com os níveis de atenção do antes e após jornada de 24 horas. Método: Estudo observacional analítico, de abordagem quantitativa, realizado com 18 enfermeiros submetidos a um inventário de estresse, ansiedade e depressão, avaliação dos níveis de atenção e funcionamento psicomotor. Resultados: 61% possuem estresse positivo. Depressão foi verifi cada em 33%; de ansiedade, em 99,9%. Forte correlação entre estresse e depressão (ρ=0,564 com p<0,05) e ansiedade (ρ=1 com p<0,05). Correlação fraca entre estresse e o tempo de execução da tarefa em M2 (ρ = 0,055) para o TMT A, fato que não ocorreu em M0 (ρ=-0,249). Conclusão: O estudo mostra que a carga trabalho dos enfermeiros que atuam em UTI, em turnos de 24 horas, está correlacionada com a elevação dos níveis de estresse, diminuição do processo de atenção e declínio psicomotor. RESUMO Objetivo validar um questionário autorreferido para avaliação do processamento auditivo central para adultos. Métodos o instrumento foi testado e validado com 123 estudantes universitários de 18 a 59 anos, sem alteração auditiva e sem histórico de tratamento para transtorno do processamento auditivo central. Os participantes realizaram os testes Gaps in Noise e Fala com Ruído. Por meio da análise estatística, foi definido o ponto de corte para alterações, a sensibilidade e a especificidade. Resultados o instrumento foi elaborado contendo 21 questões relacionadas ao histórico de saúde, aos hábitos de vida, às queixas auditivas e de aprendizagem. Após a análise fatorial, as questões relacionadas ao hábito de vida e condições de saúde foram retiradas por apresentarem carga fatorial baixa. Assim, a versão final da escala foi composta por 13 questões. Os constructos de primeira ordem e o indicador diagnóstico apresentaram níveis de confiabilidade exigidos. Foram definidos os pontos de corte 6 e 5 que indicassem alteração nos testes Gaps in Noise e Fala com Ruído branco, respectivamente. Conclusão a escala apresentou resultados válidos, confiáveis e consistentes e foi capaz de realizar inferências sobre o processamento auditivo.

Objective: The objective is to correlate the nursing diagnoses of the domain Safety/Protection of NANDA-I in critically ill patients with sociodemographic and clinical data. Method: A cross-sectional study with 86 individuals was conducted, from October 2013 to May 2014 in the Intensive Care Unit of a university hospital in northeastern Brazil, through a formal interview and physical examination. Results: It was possible to identify a total of 20 significant statistical associations, and 15 were clinically justified by the literature, namely: risk for aspiration and reason for admission; impaired dentition and age; risk for peripheral neurovascular dysfunction and sex and comorbidity; skin integrity and comorbidity; risk for impaired skin integrity and gender and reason for admission; impaired tissue integrity and gender and reason for admission; risk for perioperative positioning injury and reason for admission; risk for thermal injury and age and comorbidity; delayed surgical recovery and reason for admission; risk for poisoning and years of schooling; and risk for imbalanced body temperature and age. Conclusions: By understanding the relationship between customers' answers and the sociodemographic and clinical profile, positive health outcomes can be achieved in particular in the prevention of risks facing vulnerability characteristics, providing greater safety and protection for the critical customer.
