Resumo A promulgação da Lei do Feminicídio (Lei n. 13.104, 2015) colocou em evidência as condições de julgamento e compreensão da violência fatal contra mulheres por razões de gênero assim como a falta de comprometimento com as convenções das quais o Brasil é signatário, o que exige a ação legislativa para que se produzam outras respostas. Este trabalho tenta estabelecer a relação entre os conceitos de femicídio e feminicídio com os estudos sobre as masculinidades no contexto da violência feminicida, tendo como pano de fundo os ordenamentos jurídicos internacional e nacional, assim como os estudos feministas sobre a violência. O trajeto dos avanços legislativos e jurídicos é recuperado e discutido, compreendendo-se que a Lei do Feminicídio é um novo passo na produção de uma sociedade mais igualitária, mas só poderá lograr sucesso se reconsiderar as vivências masculinas e o androcentrismo do poder judiciário brasileiro.

On May 9th, 2012, the Argentinean Senate converted into law the long collective process, driven by trans* activism, towards the legal recognition of gender identity. The Gender Identity Act (GIA) meant a large contribution to the field of civil and sexual rights interationally, especially in the matter of trans* policy. Nevertheless, what was at stake in the approval of the GIA was not just a step forward in legal terms and at a personal level for trans* people, but a whole set of representations, desires and social stakes on trans* lives and population. Thus, as regards to the scope and achievements of the GIA and its social and parliamentary debates, we can assert that in that realm a specific trans* life does not qualify as a living life. This article addresses the specific ways of presentation and apprehension of trans* lives in parliamentary debates about the GIA, and in social disputes within trans* activism. A biopolitical analysis of gender identity leads us to rethink the social conditions that sustain life and, by the same token, the interpretative frameworks of death.

A partir de las novelas Cayó sobre su rostro (1955) y Los dueños de la tierra (1958) de David Viñas, este trabajo indaga en una configuración correlativa entre la conquista del territorio patagónico y la imposición de una modalidad familiar, sexual y racial específica. Las dos narraciones trazan una relación necesaria entre la apropiación violenta de la tierra y los ordenamientos biopolíticos que emergen de este proceso. De este modo, Viñas interviene en el debate político cultural de fines la década de 1950 poniendo en discusión la legitimidad de un proyecto de país que se desmoronó con el peronismo.
