Soybean yield in response to application of phosphate rock associated with triple superphosphate

Abstract: Soybean (Glycine max L. Merrill) crop started to be planted in the Brazilian Cerrado in the 1970's, and this region currently contributes with 57% of total soybean production in Brazil. Under natural conditions in this region, the soils present chemical limitations such as low pH, low Cation Exchange Capacity, low nutrient availability, and moreover, clayey soils have a high P fixation capacity mainly due to high contents of Fe/Al oxides. Since P is the most limiting nutrient is this region, a study was perfor… Show more

“…This application promotes the adsorption of phosphate ions in the soil because of the Fe/Al oxyhydroxides present, leading to non-labile P formation (Leite et al, 2006 Localized P application provided higher accumulation of P in most of the development stages of wheat plants, compared with P broadcast and incorporated, certainly because of the lower contact of P with soil, which minimizes P non-labile formation (Barbieri et al, 2014). Similarly, for soybean crop, Arad rock phosphate and triple superphosphate were applied together in different proportions and in localized form provided positive linear correlation for yield; however, for the broadcast application, there was no increase in yield from 50 % of relative solubility (Oliveira Júnior et al, 2011).…”
