RESUMO -ABSTRACT -The substratum used in seedling production has a key role in the initial development of the plant. To this effect, the present work aimed to evaluate the production of lettuce seedlings for different combinations of substrata. The experiment was set up following a completely randomized design with four replications. The 20 treatments were arranged in a 4x5 factorial, the first factor consisting of four substrata (PlantHort I, PlantHort II, PlantHort III and the commercial substratum Plantmax ® ) and the second consisting of five levels of burnt rice husks (0, 25, 50 , 75, 100%). The lettuce cultivar used was Elba (Lactuca sativa L.). The seeds were sown in the different substrates contained in polystyrene trays of 128 cells, at a depth of 0.5cm. The increase in the percentage of rice husks in the substrata tested, showed a similar behavior for all traits. The substrata PlantHort I, PlantHort I and PlantHort III, considered as alternatives, provided greater growth relative to the substrate Plantmax ® , irrespective of the proportion of burnt rice husks added.
Schum. saplings under shading influence ABSTRACTThe objective of this work was to evaluate the initial growth of sapling of Theobroma grandiflorum (cupuaçú), in function of different levels of solar radiation. Fifty days, after the emergency, the saplings were submitted to three levels of shade, being: 0%, 50% and natural shade. Sapling development was carried out in randomized block design with 15 repetitions (15 saplings). The sapling height, lap diameter and the numbers of leaves being evaluated on the 60 st , 82 nd , 103 rd , 124 th , 145 days after sapling emergence. The Dry Mass of the leaves (DML), Dry Mass of the stem (DMS), Dry Mass of the root (DMR) and Dry mass of the plant (DMP), Relation shoot/root (PA/R) and relation plant height/Lap diameter, were measured at the end of the experiment, when the sapling reached the appropriate size to be planted in the field. The initial growth of Theobroma grandiflorum was corroborated with the species standard that occurs inside of the primary bushes, so its development of the parameters evaluated is better in conditions of 50% of shade. The condition of 50% of shade can be recommended for the formation of plants of Theobroma grandiflorum, which had the better performance in plant height, lap diameter, number and allocation of mass in the parts of the plant.
Nitrogen and potassium fertilization in grass productivity Mombasa about phosphorus fertilization ABSTRACT-Meeting the nutritional requirements of forage plants is one of the factors that affect the production and quality of the plants. The research objective was to evaluate the achievements of nitrogen and potassium fertilization in coverage of the morphological and productive characteristics of the grass Panicum maximum cv. Mombasa grown on natural phosphate fertilizer. The experimental design was a randomized block with four replications. Thereby obtaining a factorial design with two factors (6 x 2). The first factor was composed of sixphosphorus fertilization (0,35, 70, 140, 210, 280 kg ha -1 P2O5) and the second factor was the topdressing with nitrogen and potassium. As for topdressing, parcels which was a 20 m² area were divided in half, being applied 100 kg ha -1 of urea and 60 kg ha -1 Potassium Chloride. Urea was divided into two applications month 50 kg ha -1 . The topdressing nitrogen and potassium, due to the increase of residual phosphate rock supply dose provided quadratic response in most of the indicators. It was observed that the greater height, the top dressing treatments, was 100.6 cm at 201.06 kg dose of P2O5 and without topdressing was 74.9 cm in the dose of 165.7 kg P2O5. Thus, both phosphorus fertilization as topdressing contributed to the development of plants and can be an important tool to increase the production rates of forage.Index terms: phosph...
Morphophysiological characteristics in plants of Tabebuia heptaphyilla (vell.) tol., in conditions of luminosity.aBSTRacT important factor in determining species survival, for example, its adaptability to high or low conditions of luminosity. the objective of this study was to verify the initial development, chlorophyll content, and biomass allocation in plants of Tabebuia heptaphyilla (vell.) tol., in three lighting conditions. the experiment was carried out in randomized complete blocks, with three levels of luminosity (full sunlight, 50% of light, and natural shade) and 15 repetitions of each treatment, and each plant considered as a repetition. the height and diameter were studied on 60, 82, 103, 124, 145 days after the emergence of the plants. plants exposed in the shade showed lower vegetation performance than the other conditions tested (50% and 100% of rFA). the 50% luminosity, as well as full sunlight, can be recommended for the formation of seedlings.
