Abstract -The objective of this work was to evaluate changes in the soil chemical properties, nitrogen use efficiency, and grain yield of flood-irrigated rice fields after the addition of poultry manure during five years. Trials were carried out in a randomized complete block design, with three replicates. The treatments were: chemical fertilizers, N-P 2 O 5 -K 2 O; control, no fertilizers; and poultry manure doses, 2.5, 5.0, and 10.0 Mg ha -1 . Poultry manure increased soil pH, base saturation, and phosphorus, potassium, calcium, and zinc contents more than the chemical fertilizers. Adding poultry manure to the soil increased N ammonification (35 mg kg -1 NH 4 + -N) from the first to the fourth week after rice was sown. The exclusive use of poultry manure was not sufficient to provide adequate nutrition to rice plants after the decrease in NH 4 + -N content in the soil. The cumulative N uptake by plants and rice yield were lower with poultry manure application than with the chemical fertilizers. Adding poultry manure to flood-irrigated rice fields for five years alters soil chemical properties, improves fertility, does not favor nitrogen use efficiency by rice plants, and promotes a lower grain yield than the chemical fertilizers. Uso prolongado de cama de aviário como fonte de nutrientes para cultura de arroz irrigado por inundaçãoResumo -O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar as propriedades químicas do solo, a eficiência do uso de nitrogênio e a produtividade de campos de arroz irrigado por inundação após adição de cama de aviário durante cinco anos. Os ensaios foram conduzidos em delineamento de blocos ao acaso, com três repetições. Os tratamentos foram: adubação química, N-P 2 O 5 -K 2 O; controle, sem fertilizantes; e doses de cama de aviário, 2,5, 5,0 e 10,0 Mg ha -1 . A cama de aviário aumentou o pH, a saturação por bases e os teores de fósforo, potássio, cálcio e zinco do solo mais que os fertilizantes químicos. A aplicação de cama de aviário aumentou a amonificação do N (35 mg kg -1 de N-NH 4 + ) da primeira à quarta semana após a semeadura do arroz. O uso exclusivo de cama de aviário não foi suficiente para fornecer nutrição adequada ao arroz após a diminuição do conteúdo de N-NH 4 + no solo. A absorção acumulada de N e a produtividade de arroz com a aplicação de cama de aviário foram menores do que as com os fertilizantes químicos. A adição de cama de aviário nas lavouras de arroz por cinco anos altera as propriedades químicas do solo, melhora a fertilidade, não favorece a eficiência do uso de nitrogênio pelas plantas e promove menor produção de arroz que os fertilizantes químicos.Termos para indexação: Oryza sativa, disponibilidade de nutrientes, adubos orgânicos.

ABSTRACT:Determining the chemical composition of poultry litter is important in order to apply this waste as soil fertilizer without causing negative environmental impacts. The aim of this study was to evaluate the average and variability of some chemical parameters of 165 samples of poultry litter produced from confined animal production facilities located in the states of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, Southern of Brazil. Samples of approximately 5.0 L were collected on 20 points from the truck at the time the material was unloaded into the application sites. Subsequently, they were oven-dried at 65 °C and analyzed. Values of pH in water, dry matter, N, P and K were determined in all samples; N soluble in water (soluble-N), ammonium (NH + 4 -N) and nitrate (NO − 3 -N) were quantified in 50 samples; organic carbon (organic-C) and C/N ratio were assessed in 20 samples. There was large variation in the contents of N, P 2 O 5 and K 2 O among samples, with the average accounting for 2.2, 3.0 and 2.9 %, respectively; these nutrients correlated with each other. More than 90 % of the N was in the organic form, into which the fraction soluble in water accounted for 21.8 % of the total. Inorganic N was predominantly in the form of ammonium (NH + 4 -N), and nitrate (NO − 3 -N) was absent. Average dry matter was 64.3 %, with a median of 66.5 %; pH was always alkaline (average of 7.8), with a low variation coefficient (7.4 %), and was negatively correlated with NH + 4 -N. The average of organic C and C/N ratio in dry matter was 28.3 % and 11.2, respectively, which results in the immediate release of N to the soil, with no microorganism immobilization. The chemical composition of poultry litters produced in confined systems in Southern Brazil is widely variable. Thus, to be successfully used as soil fertilizer, it is essential to know their composition, mainly in terms of moisture N, P 2 O 5 and K 2 O contents.

Este resíduo gera condições favoráveis para o desenvolvimento do besouro Alphitobius diaperinus (Panzer) (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae), conhecido como cascudinho, sendo esse considerado a principal praga da avicultura, e afeta a produção avícola em todo o mundo. Seu controle é considerado difícil, sendo comumente empregadas substâncias piretróides e organofosforadas, apesar de não eficientes. Na busca pelo controle alternativo do inseto, vários métodos aditivos e inseticidas naturais vêm sendo testados. Contudo, na prática entomológica, substâncias com elevada pressão de vapor a fim de se produzir gases tóxicos são utilizadas para fixação dos insetos. Assim, em outubro de 2015, avaliou-se o álcool etílico PA para o controle de A. diaperinus em cama de frango. As unidades experimentais foram representadas por garrafas plásticas tipo pet cortadas, onde foram colocadas 100 g de cama de frango, acrescidos de 20 insetos adultos e 135 larvas, cada uma. Os tratamentos foram constituídos pela aplicação de álcool no volume de 1, 2,5, 5, 7,5 e 10 mL e sua diluição com água (1:1) sendo aplicado igual volume. Simularam-se dois ambientes, sendo um aberto (com telas contendo os insetos) e um fechado (recipiente amostral fechado com a porção previamente cortada da garrafa pet). Nas parcelas foram mantidas a temperatura de 28,5 ± 2 ºC e UR de 51,0 ± 2%, feito seis repetições por tratamento. A quantidade de 2,5 mL (2,5% v/p) de álcool gerou 100% de mortalidade de adultos e larvas nas amostras fechadas, sendo necessário o dobro do volume no sistema aberto. Para a diluição álcool-água (1:1) o controle de 100% foi obtido com o dobro das quantidades relatadas anteriormente em relação aos respectivos tratamentos.inforMation Cronología del artículo.
