Silsesquioxane 3-n-Propylpyridinium chloride: a new polymer for the potentiometric analysis of Cr(VI) in electroplating and leather industry wastes

A resposta do e… Show more

“…The band of high intensity at 1108 cm −1 and a band of medium intensity at 460 cm −1 (in b), can be attributed to the stretching mode of the skeleton SiO and to the deformation mode of the SiOSi, respectively 13. It can be also observed vibrational bands characteristic of the pyridinium ring at 1635(s), 1580(w), 1502(sh), and 1487(s) cm −1 (where s = strong, w = weak, and sh = shoulder), whose values agree very well to those registered for silsesquioxane 3‐ n ‐propylpyridinium chloride obtained previously 14…”

“…This organosilicate also shows suitable adhesion and ion adsorption features, which provide highly desirable multifunctional physicochemical properties and remarkable applications [3]. Some studies have investigated its use as adsorbent material [4] for preparing electrodes [5,6] and sensors [7]. Besides, SiPy + Clcan undergo structural changes for obtaining organic-inorganic hybrid compounds, which play an important role in providing a chemical platform for discovery of novel materials [3].…”

“…Some potentiometric sensors based on liquid membranes or PVC membranes for chromium(VI) analysis containing modifiers such as cyclic amines, diaza crown ethers, Rhodamine-B, cryptands, porphyrines or calixarene ionophores have been reported previously [14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21]. In spite of availability of a number of Cr(VI) sensors, their use for Cr(VI) estimation has been limited, because they have shown interference by cations such as Cu 2+ , Hg 2+ and Pb 2+ ions or anions such as CH 3 COO -, Cland SO 4 2-, work over narrow concentration range and nonNernstian response.…”

“…Chemically modified electrodes (CME) with conductive polymers have been found to be much more interesting because of the combination of tunable chemical and electronic properties of conducting polymers [21][22][23]. Conducting electroactive polymers such as polypyrrole (PPy) and polyaniline (PAni) have attracted many investigators in recent years due to their interesting electrical and electrochemical behaviors [24,25].…”
