Characteristics of polyaniline electrosynthesized in propylene carbonate medium in the presence of di- and trichloroacetic acids

Show more

“…The broadening of the carrier absorption peak may occur due to an increase in the defect sites of the polymer chains upon SHI irradiation. The shift of absorption bands towards higher wavelength regions may also be attributed to the formation of a polaronic band in the polyaniline film upon irradiation [30]. The increase in absorption and peak shift towards higher wavelength is an indication of the decreased energy band gap of the polyaniline films, which gives rise to an increase in the dc conductivity of the films.…”

“…However, the peak at 1467 cm −1 was from NBN (where B is the benzene ring). The peaks at 1129 and 1018 cm −1 became asymmetric, and the absorption band at 1129 cm −1 became stronger than the similar peak in the spectrum of FcA, this was due to NQN (where Q is the quinoid ring) and perchlorate anion incorporation in copolymer . The characteristic absorption peaks almost appeared in the case of pure PANI.…”

“…The peaks at 1129 and 1018 cm À1 were asymmetric. The peak at 1129 cm À1 was stronger than the corresponding peak in the spectrum of FcA, owing to the N¼Q¼N vibration 27 and perchlorate anion incorporation in copolymer 28 (where Q is the quinoid ring). The peak of the framework vibration of the hexatomic ring was observed at 1529 cm À1 and the weak peak at 3236 cm À1 was attributed to residual ÀOH.…”
