Sintomas de ansiedade e depressão em mulheres com e sem compulsão alimentar participantes de programas de redução de pesoAnxiety and depression symptoms in women with and without binge eating disorder enrolled in weight loss programs Abstract Objectives: 1) To investigate the association between binge eating scores, anxiety and depression symptoms, and body mass index (BMI), and 2) to assess the presence of differences in severity of anxiety symptoms, severity of depression symptoms, and BMI in women with and without binge eating disorder. Method:The sample comprised 113 women aged between 22 and 60 years (39.35±10.85) enrolled in weight loss programs in Porto Alegre, southern Brazil. The following instruments were used: structured interview, Brazilian Economic Classification Criteria, Beck Anxiety Inventory, Beck Depression Inventory, and Binge Eating Scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: A positive association was found between binge eating scores and the severity of anxiety symptoms (p < 0.001) and depression symptoms (p < 0.001). No significant association was observed between BMI and binge eating scores (p = 0.341). There were significant differences between women with and without binge eating disorder with regard to severity of anxiety symptoms (p < 0.001) and severity of depression symptoms (p < 0.001). Conversely, no significant differences were observed between the groups concerning BMI (p = 0.103). Conclusion: Our findings showed that binge eating is associated with symptoms of anxiety and depression, but not with BMI. Keywords: Anxiety, depression, feeding behavior, compulsive behavior. Resultados: Houve associação positiva entre os escores de compulsão alimentar e a intensidade dos sintomas de ansiedade (p < 0,001) e de depressão (p < 0,001). Não foi observada associação significativa (p = 0,341) entre IMC e escores de compulsão alimentar. Houve diferença significativa entre mulheres com e sem co mpulsão alimentar com relação à intensidade dos sintomas de ansiedade (p < 0,001) e depressão (p < 0,001). Não foi encontrada diferença significativa entre os grupos com relação ao IMC (p = 0,103). Conclusão: Os achados deste estudo mostraram que a compulsão alimentar está associada a sintomas de ansiedade e de depressão, porém não está associada ao IMC.

RESUMO:Os métodos cirúrgicos estão cada vez mais avançados, considerados eficazes para pacientes com obesidade mórbida. A primeira cirurgia bariátrica a ser realizada para o tratamento de obesidade foi realizada em 1954, por Kremen. Pacientes submetidos a cirurgia bariátrica são acompanhados por equipe multidisciplinar para auxiliar e motivar o tratamento bariátrico. O presente artigo teve como objetivo analisar a importância do papel do farmacêutico no tratamento pré e pós-operatório de pacientes, as formas farmacêuticas utilizadas, principais deficiências nutricionais, e relatos dos pacientes juntamente com suas expectativas e dificuldades. A presente pesquisa é classificada como exploratória, do tipo qualitativa e quantitativa, realizada através de questionário entregue a vinte pacientes de ambos os sexos, entre os meses de fevereiro a maio de 2017, em uma rede de farmácia de Telêmaco Borba-PR. Os dados obtidos foram analisados e agrupados no Microsoft Excel®. Todos os pacientes estavam com o IMC elevado, principal critério para intervenção cirúrgica. As principais técnicas em cirurgia bariátrica foram bypass gástrica em Y de Roux e sleeve. A cirurgia bariátrica tem apresentado grande melhora na obesidade e principalmente na autoestima de pacientes, mas ainda existem dificuldades. O farmacêutico é o profissional habilitado e capacitado para esclarecer qualquer dúvida em relação aos medicamentos, seus efeitos colaterais e demais orientações sobre a cirurgia, devendo estar sempre presente no pré e pós-operatório de pacientes submetidos à cirurgia bariátrica. Palavras-chave: Obesidade; cirurgia bariátrica; farmacêutico. ABSTRACT:Surgical methods are increasingly advanced, considered effective for patients with morbid obesity. The first bariatric surgery to be performed for the treatment of obesity was performed in 1954, by Kremen. Patients submitted bariatric surgery are accompanied by a multidisciplinary team to assist and motivate bariatric treatment. This article aimed to analyze the importance of the role of the pharmacist in the pre and postoperative treatment of patients, the pharmaceutical forms used, the main nutritional deficiencies, and patient reports together with their expectations and difficulties. Objective: To evaluate the behavior of the sensation of hunger of the subjects before, during and after the intervention of acupuncture. Methods: A descriptive exploratory study. Data collection occurred in a university hospital in Maringá -PR, between July and October 2009, with 37 obese workers, who received eight weekly sessions of acupuncture. For measuring appetite, we used visual analogue scales. Results: It was demonstrated that the behavior of appetite in relation to satiety, fullness, desire for sweet and palatable food changed during the intervention. There was no reduction in weight or body mass index of subjects, however there was significant reduction in waist-hip ratio (p = 0.02) and control of the habit of using comfort food. Conclusion: The study findings contribute to the formation of the body of knowledge of acupuncture directed toward workers' health, especially in aspects related to obesity, its comorbidities, and trigger factors. Para mensuração do apetite, foram utilizadas as Escalas Visuais Analógicas. Resultados: Demonstraram que o comportamento do apetite em relação à saciedade, plenitude, desejo por alimentos doces e palatáveis sofreu modificações durante a intervenção. Não houve redução de peso ou índice de massa corpórea dos sujeitos, contudo observou-se redução significativa na razão cintura-quadril (p=0,02) e controle no hábito de consumir alimento consolo. Conclusão: Os achados do estudo podem contribuir para a formação do corpo de conhecimento da acupuntura voltada à saúde do trabalhador, sobretudo nos aspectos relacionados à obesidade, suas comorbidades e fatores desencadeantes.Descritores: Acupuntura; Apetite; Obesidade; Saúde do trabalhador.
