“…In the psychological autopsy studies (18 reports, k = 8, n = 139 cases of suicide; Table 1 and Table S1), all the included manuscripts were case series (Cavalcante et al., 2013; Cavalcante & Minayo, 2012; Costa & Souza, 2017; Dantas et al., 2022; Dubugras Sá & Guevara Werlang, 2007; Meneghel et al., 2012; Minayo, Cavalcante et al., 2012; Minayo, Meneghel & Cavalcante, 2012; Minayo & Cavalcante, 2013; Sá & Werlang, 2007; Sena‐Ferreira et al., 2014; Sérvio & Cavalcante, 2013; Sousa et al., 2014; Teixeira, 2019; Vansan, 1987; Vansan & Fávero, 1986, 1988; Werlang & Botega, 2003). Importantly, several psychological autopsy studies were reported to be qualitative investigations; nevertheless, the manner used in these investigations for the reporting of characteristics of suicide deaths met the definition of case series (Munn et al., 2020), being considered as such in this systematic review.…”
