Can thıamıne pyrophosphate prevent desflurane ınduced hepatotoxıcıty ın rats?

Abstract: PURPOSE:To investigate the effects of thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP) against desflurane induced hepatotoxicity. METHODS:Thirty experimental animals were divided into groups as healthy (HG), desflurane control (DCG) , TPP and desflurane group (TDG). 20 mg/kg TPP was injected to intraperitoneally TDG. After one hour of TPP administration, desflurane was applied for two hours. After 24 hours, liver tissues of the animals killed with decapitation were removed. The oxidant/antioxidant levels and ALT, AST and LDH acti… Show more

“…TPP has been demonstrated in earlier research to reduce oxidative stress caused by alcohol and paracetamol in animal liver and to have a hepatoprotective effect by shielding the liver tissue from oxidative damage (Tung et al 2005;Chin et al 2008). TPP treatment also considerably reduces desflurane-related histopathological damage by boosting antioxidant activity (Arslan et al 2016). We found no experimental trials examining the preventive effect of TPP against propofol-related hepatotoxicity in our assessment of the literature.…”

“…The serum samples were held at −20°C until laboratory analysis. Oxidative stress biomarkers including MDA, NO, and TAC were measured in serum samples using Hangzhou Eastbiopharm Kits by double-antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (DRG, Germany) (Arslan et al, 2016; Boskabady and Mahtaj, 2015). Participants who had hematological parameters out of normal ranges (Rasouli et al, 2017) were classified as the abnormal group.…”

“…When published literature is examined, it is seen that MDA and IL-1β increases in the experimental groups treated with desfl urane, while SOD and tGSH decreases (3,6,19,20). When the biochemical parameters were examined in this study, the increase in MDA and IL-1β in the DS-2 group was higher than in the DS-1 group.…”
