Flavonoids, benzophenones and a new euphane derivative from Clusia columnaris Engl.

Show more

“…The occurrence of C-glycosylated flavones has been described for other species of the genus Clusia (Delle Monache, 1991;Chedier et al, 1999;Compagnone et al, 2008). Thus, this study contributes to the knowledge of chemosystematics of this genus.…”

“…Based on the comparison of 1D and 2D NMR data of the compounds 2–7 with the published literature, they were identified as volkensiflavone ( 2 ), 4″‐ O ‐methyl‐volkensiflavone ( 3 ), volkensiflavone‐7‐ O ‐glucopyranoside ( 4 ), morelloflavone ( 5 ), 3″‐ O ‐methyl‐morelloflavone ( 6 ) and morelloflavone‐7‐ O ‐glucopyranoside ( 7 ) . Their 1 H and 13 C NMR spectra and complete assignments given in Figs S15–S20 and Tables S1–S6 are shown in the Supporting Information.…”

“…Glucose was directly attached to the C‐8 of the aglycon as can be observed in the HMBC spectrum by the correlation between Glu H‐1 and C‐8. Correlations in the HMBC and COSY spectra showed that xylose was attached to glucose by a 1 → 2 glycosidic bond . Based on these results, compound 6 was elucidated as 2″‐ O ‐xylosyl‐vitexin ( 6 ) (Figure ).…”
