Avaliação in vitro das atividades antiinflamatória, antioxidante e antimicrobiana do alcalóide montanina

Show more

“…Alkaloids were detected in almost all the extracts studied (Table 1). Those compounds are known to exhibit a variety of biological activities including inhibition of malignant cell growth and proliferation, leishmanicidal, anti-HIV, anti-infl ammatory and antioxidant activities (Bacher et al, 2001;Chan-Bacab and Peña-Rodríguez, 2001;Ra ková et al, 2004;Singh et al, 2005;Barbosa-Filho et al, 2006;Castilhos et al, 2007). On the other hand, secoiridoids are reported to show leishmanicidal and antioxidant activity (ChanBacab and Peña-Rodríguez, 2001;Carrasco-Pancorbo et al, 2005).…”

“…Minimum quantity (μg) required for activity; na, not active. Standards: Nystatin MICs 4, 8, and 8 μg/ml against C. albicans , C. parapsilosis , and C. neoformans , respectively (Pagning et al, ); Chlorotrimazole MIC not given against C. albicans (Evidente et al, ); Amphotericin B MIC 0.6 μg/ml against C. albicans (Bonvicini et al, ); Tioconazole MICs 4, 0.03, 0.125, and 0.03 μg/ml against C. albicans , C. dubliniensis , C. glabrata , and L. elongisporus , respectively (Ločárek et al, ); Ketoconazole MIC not given against S. cerevisiae (Castilhos et al, ); Ketoconazole MICs 0.87, 0.92, and 1.26 μg/ml against A. niger , C. albicans , and T. rubrum , respectively (Wu et al, ).…”

“…In addition to phenanthridones, lycoranes, and crinanes, four other structural groups were represented in antifungal screenings of Amaryllidaceae alkaloids. These included members of the galanthamine ( 1 ), tazettine ( 24 ), homolycorine ( 25 ), and montanine ( 26 ) groups (Scheme ) (Castilhos et al, ; Evidente et al, ; Jimenez et al, ; Ločárek et al, ). As early as 1975, Jimenez et al showed that activities for pretazettine ( 27 ) against the S. cerevisiae strains Y166 and TR 1 were mild (MICs >2 mM; Table ).…”
