Blood lactate threshold reflects glucose responses in horses submitted to incremental exercise test

Abstract: Apoio: FAPESPThe energy necessary for muscle contraction is obtained from the hydrolysis of ATP, releasing inorganic phosphate. ATP can be furnished by phosphocreatine, glucose, glycogen, amino acids and free fatty acids. The production of ATP is much more efficient in the presence of oxygen than in its absence.
