RESUMOEste estudo, utilizando-se da abordagem etnohistórica, trata sobre a atuação de lideranças Guarani em relação ao projeto envolvendo missionário jesuítico, no século XVII, em territórios do Brasil Meridional. O estudo tem como objetivo analisar a história das movimentações dos Guarani coloniais e os processos de ocupação de espaços localizados em territórios da Bacia Hidrográfica do Taquari/Antas, Pardo e Jacuí no Rio Grande do Sul. Do ponto de vista teórico-metodológico, as informações documentais que consistem dos registros anuais jesuíticos do século XVII da Coleção De Angelis, a revisão bibliográfica sobre os Guarani Coloniais e a identificação de sítios arqueológicos regionais, são analisadas a partir da abordagem etnohistórica. Inicialmente, trata-se dos limites e possibilidades da etnohistória como abordagem interdisciplinar. Logo a seguir, apresentam-se ocupações indígenas arqueológicas em territórios de Bacias hidrográficas e, por fim, analisam-se atuações indígenas Guarani e as reduções jesuíticas no território em estudo.Palavras-chave: Etnohistória.
