“…Remarks . Piola schiffi differs from P. rubra Martins and Galileo 1999 as follows: pronotal longitudinal band with pale yellow pubescence; elytron without large glabrous areas; elytron without large, dense areas of white pubescence. In P. rubra the pronotal band has yellow pubescence, the elytron have large glabrous areas and white pubescence covers large areas.…”

“…Marinoni (1974) described Piola for a single new species from Brazil and Argentina: P. quiabentiae Marinoni, 1974. Martins and Galileo (1999) described three more species from Brazil, Bolivia, and Colombia, and provided a key to the species of the genus. The new species described in this work is the first record of the genus in Ecuador.…”

“…Later, Martins (1997) described Eburella pinima Martins, 1997 based on a single female; although he could not check the male characteristics, he justified the inclusion of the species in Eburella by the absence of the anterolateral tubercles of prothorax and the pronotal tubercles and the antennomere III without longitudinal sulcus. Later, Martins & Galileo (1999) described a third species, Eburella longicollis Martins & Galileo, 1999, based on a male specimen which did not have densely hairy areas on the sternites, considered by them as a specific characteristic. recently, Botero (2013) described the male of Eburella pinima and noticed that the urosternites of males do not have densely hairy areas, corroborating the proposal of Martins & Galileo (1999) that this is a specific characteristic.…”

“…Dimensões mm, respectivamente macho/fêmea: Comprimento total, 8,5/7,9; comprimento do protórax, 1,3/1,1; maior largura do protórax, 1,5/1,4; comprimento do élitro, 6,4/5,9; largura umeral, 2,0/1,9. Martins & Galileo, 1999, pela faixa sutural acastanhada dos élitros sem revestimento e ausência de faixas longitudinais acastanhadas e paralelas depois do meio. Em C. colombiana, a faixa sutural é revestida por pubescência amarelada e existem faixas curtas, castanhas, paralelas, situadas atrás do meio.…”
