OBJECTIVETo assess the quality of health care of older adults using as a parameter the assessment of the responsiveness of the service.METHODSThis is a descriptive cross-sectional study conducted in a reference unit of the Brazilian Unified Health System at the outpatient level. The sample was probabilistic and had 385 older adults; data collection occurred in 2014. The domains assessed were: choice, autonomy, confidentiality, dignity, communication, physical facilities, and fast service. To this end, we used Pearson correlation test and Fisher’s exact test.RESULTSThe domains of dignity, confidentiality, and communication reached the highest level of adequate responsiveness. On the other hand, freedom of choice and fast service received the worst assessments. Participation in decision-making regarding treatment was significantly lower among the older adults who had no education. In addition, the older adults that self-reported as black receive a lower quality of care regarding clear explanation and respected privacy in the appointment, when compared to users of any other race.CONCLUSIONSAlthough most domains studied have receive a positive assessment, we have found a need for an equal care by the health professionals, regardless of race, education level, or any other adjective characteristic of older adults, users of public health services.

Objective: to understand the access of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transvestites/transsexuals to the Basic Family Health Units. Methods: qualitative research held with 54 patients. A semi-structured interview and the free association test were used. The data were processed by the software IRaMuTeQ® and submitted to the technique of Content Analysis in the thematic modality. Results: six categories emerged: Silencing regarding sexual orientation and gender identity-access is facilitated as they do not reveal themselves; Invisibility and indifference to legal political references-antagonism between the paradigm thought and executed; Homophobic manifestations and effects on access-restricted use of the service; Embarrassment and distancing-removal and search for private services; Des (humanized) and unethical practices-lack of awareness, secrecy; and Stigma and access-permanence of stigmata between Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome and homosexuality. Conclusion: the access to health services is limited with intolerance, constraints, exclusionary and aerial positions. Objetivo: compreender o acesso de lésbicas, gays, bissexuais e travestis/transexuais às Unidades Básicas de Saúde da Família. Métodos: pesquisa qualitativa, realizada com 54 usuários(as). Utilizou-se entrevista semiestruturada e o teste de associação livre de palavras. Os dados foram processados pelo software IRaMuTeQ® e submetidos à técnica de Análise de Conteúdo na modalidade temática. Resultados: emergiram seis categorias: Silenciamento quanto à orientação sexual e identidade de gênero-o acesso é facilitado desde que não se revelem; Invisibilidade e indiferença aos marcos políticos legais-antagonismo entre o paradigma pensado e executado; Manifestações homofóbicas e efeitos no acesso-uso restrito do serviço; Constrangimento e distanciamento-afastamento e busca por serviços privados; Práticas des(humanizadas) e antiéticas-falta de sensibilização, sigilo; e Estigma e acesso-permanência de estigmas entre Síndrome de Imunodeficiência Adquirida e homossexualidade. Conclusão: o acesso desta população aos serviços de saúde é limitado, permeado por intolerância, constrangimentos e posicionamentos aéticos e excludentes. Responsiveness of the health system in in-patient services is closely related to patient's reasonable expectations of non-clinical aspects for inpatient care. A comfortable patient can straight influence level of responsiveness. This study aimed to determine level of in-patient responsiveness and significance of respondent characteristics on eight responsiveness domains. It was a further analysis of the Responsiveness Survey of 2017. A Cross-Sectional design with a quantitative approach and has performed in 34 provinces in Indonesia. Most mean responsiveness scores were in range of good scores. Moreover, Lowest score was quality basic amenities domain, while highest score was confidentiality domain. Level of in-patient responsiveness was good category (8,05). Each characteristic has significantly correlated with one or more responsiveness domains. We can increase in-patient responsiveness value that less than 8,0 through improving three responsiveness domains, i.e., dignity, access to social network, and provider choice. Abstrak Ketanggapan rawat inap sistem kesehatan berkaitan dengan harapan logis pasien terhadap aspek non medis. Level Ketanggapan dapat secara langsung mempengaruhi kenyamanan pasien. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui level Ketanggapan rawat inap dan signifikansi karakteristik responden terhadap 8 domain Ketanggapan. Penelitian ini merupakan analisa lanjut data survei Ketanggapan tahun 2017. Metode penelitian adalah cross-sectional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Survei ini dilakukan di 34 provinsi di Indonesia. Semua rerata skor Ketanggapan berada pada rentang skor baik. Nilai skor yang paling rendah adalah domain quality basic amenities. Sedangkan nilai skor yang paling tinggi adalah domain confidentiality. Level Ketanggapan rawat inap adalah 8,05 dan masuk kategori baik. Setiap karakteristik mempunyai hubungan signifikan dengan satu atau lebih domain Ketanggapan. Nilai Ketanggapan rawat inap bisa ditingkatkan dengan memperbaiki 3 domain Responsiveness, yaitu Dignity, Acces to social network, Choice of provider.
