The funding policies alleviated the financial difficulties of most sports institutions in Brazil, especially those linked to the Brazilian Olympic Committee (BOC) and which received funds from percentages of federal lotteries, but did not fully solve the financial problems of Brazilian sport (De Almeida and Marchi Júnior 2011).
