Fenologia de Chrysophyllum gonocarpum (Mart. & Eichler) Engl. (Sapotaceae) em floresta semidecídua do Sul do Brasil

Abstract: -(Phenology of Chrysophyllum gonocarpum (Mart. & Eichler) Engl. (Sapotaceae) in semideciduous forest in southern Brazil). Phenological patterns of Chrysophyllum gonocarpum (Mart. & Eichler) Engl. were investigated from May 1995 to December 1997 in a tropical semideciduous forest in southern Brazil (23º27' S and 51º15' W). Forty trees were monthly observed for changes on leaf fall and flushing, flowering, and fruiting. The leaf fall occurred in the dry period while leaf flushing, flowering and dispersion occurr… Show more

“…At each census, the phenophases were quantified, as a proportion of the crown, using a 0-3 scale (0 -absent phenophase, 1 -up to 30% of the crown presents phenophase, 2 -from 30% to 60% of the crown presents phenophase, 3 -more than 60% of the crown presents phenophase) (Bianchini et al, 2006).…”

“…Rain seasonality associated with temperature and photoperiod seasonalities, as observed in southern Brazil, can generate a seasonal phenological pattern in forest species, as observed by Marques et al (2004) and Bianchini et al (2006).…”

“…During the 4 th growing season, ET c values were around 20% higher for I treatment (not irrigated but with irrigation history) than R treatment (Table 2), which is explained by the higher plant height and LAI index, as well as observed by Lena (2013). Therefore, although Jatropha is considered a drought tolerant plant, adequate water available is a limiting factor for the plant development, especially when associated with temperature and photoperiod (Saturnino et al, 2005;Bianchini et al, 2006).…”
