Marandu e cv. Piatã e U. decumbens cv. Basilisk, semeadas nas profundidades de 0, 3, 6, 9 e 12 c… Show more

“…Mean seedling emergence was within the range of 56%–80% reported by Ikeda et al. (), Laura, Rodrigues, Arias, Chermouth, and Rossi () and Vieira, Nagano, Bianchi, and Silva (). Seedling emergence of 74% is considered high, especially in areas that have a high density of U. decumbens such as abandoned pastures, where the seed density may reach 8,600 seeds/m 2 (Pancera, ).…”

“…The density may be higher, as Ikeda et al. () reported that seedling emergence may occur to a depth of 9 cm. However, based on the model presented by Bond, Honig, and Maze (), the maximum depth for seedling emergence for this species (mean seed mass = 5.2 ± 0.2 mg, data not shown) would be 4.7 ± 0.1 cm, suggesting that emergence from deeper levels only occurs in conditions where the soil is turned over.…”

“…decumbens emergence was affected by seeds location at the soil profile, therewith has occurred high intensity emergence reduction from 7.0 cm depth. Araldi et al (2013) and Ikeda et al (2013), also observed that sowing depth (B. decumbens) from 0.0 to 6.0 cm obtained the highest SEI.…”
