Purpose: To evaluate the effect of non-ablative radiofrequency capacitive (RF) in the treatment of sagging skin in the region of labia majora, and the influence on sexual function. Methods: The sample included 9 women with complaints of sagging skin in the labia majora, of which 7 had sexually active. The protocol consisted of 8 sessions of RF, with a temperature of 39 º C to 41 º C, 1x/week for up to 20 minutes. Evaluation tools, photographs taken before the first session and eight days after the last session, which were assessed by the patients themselves and by three health professionals (physiotherapist, dermatologist and gynecologist) were used. Sexual function was assessed by the FSFI questionnaire (Female Sexual Function Index). The age and BMI variables were expressed as mean and standard deviation and analyzed by Student's t test and the remaining variables were expressed as percentages and analyzed by McNemar test. Results: Regarding the clinical response of RF, all patients reported satisfaction with the treatment outcome. In assessing professionals, physiotherapists and gyecologist reported improvement in six (67%) patients and dermatologist mentioned improvement in eight (89%) of patients. With respect to sexual function, there was an increase in mean (SD) of 25.66 ± 5.7 to 27.30 ± 5.5, p = 0.38. Domains arousal and lubrication improved in 5 of 7 patients. Conclusion: RF seems to be an alternative non-invasive treatment for the treatment of skin sagging labia, however being a series of cases is necessary with a randomized evaluation of therapeutic response to long-term clinical trial.

Objective: The aim of this study was to conduct an integrative literature review on the impact of breast cancer (CA) on female sexuality. Methods:The search was performed online in November 2014 using the following databases: Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Scopus, PubMed, Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences (LILACS) and the Cochrane Library. The search results consisted of 13 articles. Synthesis:Most studies have shown that women have less lubrication and a decrease in desire, which directly affect their quality of life. Moreover, 70% of the articles described limitations of the studies, the most cited of which were as follows: small sample size because of the feeling that participants considered the theme to be embarrassing, the altered emotional state decreased willingness to participate in the study, and the non-participation of husbands in the study reduced the impact on marital intimacy. Conclusion:It can be concluded that breast cancer has a negative impact on the sexual function of women who are affected by this disease.

Objetivo: O intuito deste trabalho foi investigar a função sexual e a qualidade de vida das mulheres sobreviventes do câncer de mama. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo de corte transversal, incluindo 36 mulheres submetidas à cirurgia de câncer de mama (17 mastectomias e 19 quadrantectomias), sexualmente ativas, em tratamento hormonioterápico, com idade entre 37 e 60 anos. O instrumento utilizado para avaliar a função sexual foi o Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) e, para a qualidade de vida, o European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire (EORTC QLQ-C30). Resultados: Neste estudo, 61,1% das mulheres apresentaram disfunção sexual. Em relação à qualidade de vida, mulheres mais jovens foram mais impactadas em sua capacidade funcional (p=0,049). Conclusão: A prevalência de disfunção sexual é elevada nas mulheres sobreviventes do câncer de mama, destacando-se o desejo hipoativo e a dispareunia. Em relação à qualidade de vida, foi observado mais prejuízo da capacidade funcional nas mulheres jovens. PALAVRAS-CHAVE:Câncer de mama; qualidade de vida; sexualidade; mastectomia. RESUMO ABSTRACTObjective: The aim of this study was to investigate the sexual function and quality of life of breast cancer survival women.Methods: This is a cross-sectional study including 36 women who underwent breast cancer surgery (17 mastectomies and 19 quadrantectomies), sexually active, undergoing hormone therapy, aged 37 to 60 years old. Data were collected through the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire (EORTC QLQ-C30). Results: In this study, 61.1% of the women had sexual dysfunction. Regarding quality of life, younger women were more impacted in their functional capacity (p=0,049). Conclusion: The prevalence of sexual dysfunction is higher in breast cancer survival women, with hypoactive desire and dyspareunia. Regarding quality of life, greater impairment of functional capacity was observed in young women.
