Casais desse pr… Show more

“…This might be because of the sexual maturation of the adults (Zanuncio et al, 1992) and to the time of the day at which the experiments were carried out (Pires et al, 2006). Moreover, the mating period allowed was four hours, which is longer than that observed in other studies.…”

“…The choice tests were assembled from 10:00 am because P. nigrispinus is known to have a higher mating frequency near midday (Pires et al, 2006). Females were placed at the end and males in the middle of the tray (Figure 1) with 30 replications, each with a tray with two different females and one male.…”

“…For Torres et al, (2009), Hemiptera has a large number of species that are predators, with Reduviidae among them, which are quite voracious and generalists. Pires et al (2006) stated that Hemiptera has wide fauna diversity, and many of their individuals are important agricultural pest predators. Therefore, Hemiptera is recommended for biological control programs.…”

“…Podisus nigrispinus predators are used for the biological control of defoliating larvae in eucalypt forests (PIRES et al, 2006(PIRES et al, , 2015SOARES et al, 2009b). Therefore, it is necessary to improve mass rearing techniques for this natural enemy for its release into areas with larval outbreaks (LACERDA et al, 2004).…”
