Abstract:Recebido em 12/3/07; aceito em 10/8/07; publicado na web em 26/2/08 SYNTHESIS OF ARYL β-N-ACETYLGLUCOSAMINIDES MODIFIED AT C-6 AS POTENTIAL ANTIMICROBIAL AGENTS. We report herein the synthesis of aryl β-N-acetylglucosaminides containing azido, amino and acetamido groups at C-6 as potential antimicrobial agents. It was expected that these compounds could interfere with the biosynthesis and/or biotransformation of Nacetylglucosamine in fungi and bacteria.
