Abstract: Recebido em 20/10/98; aceito em 11/5/99 ILUSTRATION OF THE INFLUENCE OF THE HEATING RATE IN THERMOGRAVIMETRYRESULTS. The effects of the heating rate on a TG curve of a sample have been widely discussed in the literature. This paper shows the influence of heating rate (β) in thermogravimetry results when stoichiometry determinations are studied. For this purpose the compound Sm(CH 3 SO 3 ) 3 .2(3-picNO) was considered β of 2,5; 5; 10; 20 and 40ºC min -1 in dynamic air atmosphere were obtained. The results are i… Show more

“…Ca Glass was again subjected to thermal analysis under different heating rates (10,15,20,25, and 30 ºC/min -Figure 9) in order to carry out the kinetic studies. As expected, as the heating rate increases, the crystallization peak shifts to higher temperatures and widens 63 , suggesting greater separation between the crystallization peaks of the individual phases. The center of this crystallization peak at 900 ºC (10 ºC/min) shifts to 925 ºC (15 ºC/min), 930 ºC (20 ºC/min), 935 ºC (25 ºC/min), and 952 ºC (30 ºC/min).…”
