“…It belongs to the Clusiaceae family and is used in folk medicine for the treatment of ailments such as wounds, peptic ulcers and tumors (Lorenzi 2008). Previous reports have demonstrated the presence of bioactive compounds in this plant, such as biflavonoids and prenylated xanthones and benzophenones (Delle Monache et al 1984;Santos et al 1999).
