The knowledge of phenological stages and thermal requirement are important in vineyard management because provides information for production and quality of the grapes. This study had the objective to evaluate phenology and thermal demand of the grape cultivars Bordô, Concord, and BRS Carmem on rootstocks Paulsen 1103, IAC 766, and VR 043-43. The experiment was conducted in a family owned vineyard in Campo Largo, Paraná State, Brazil. The vineyard was carried out on ridges with semitrellis in 'T' systems conducting (Geneva Double Curtain trellis). The evaluations were assessed during the production cycles of 2011/2012 and 2012/2013. The phenology was evaluated with a scale of 13 phenological stages. The thermal demand was defined by calculating the degree-days accumulation (DD) from bud swelling until harvest stage. The cultivar BRS Carmem had the longest cycle, being influenced by the rootstock, IAC 766 e Paulsen 1103 showed opposite results for cycle time. The cultivar Concord was more stable; there was no influence of rootstock on the cycle or of the thermal demand on the two harvests. The duration of the phenological cycle in 2012/2013 was lower than on the first harvest. Thermal requirement of 'BRS Carmem' was influenced by tree different rootstocks, 'Concord' was not influenced, and the results to 'Bordô' were not consistent. Key words: Vitis labrusca, degree-day, American grapes, phenological behavior Resumo O conhecimento de estágios fenológicos e exigência térmica são importantes em gerenciamento de vinhedo porque providenciam informações para a produção e qualidade das uvas. Este trabalho objetivou avaliar a fenologia e exigência térmica das cultivares Bordô, Concord e BRS-Carmem sobre os porta-enxertos Paulsen-1103, IAC 766 'Campinas' e VR 043-43. O experimento foi conduzido na Região Metropolitana de Curitiba, num parreiral em propriedade de agricultura familiar, no município de Campo Largo, PR. O parreiral foi instalado em camalhões com sistema de condução em semilatada em 'T'. As avaliações foram realizadas nos ciclos de produção 2011/2012 e 2012/2013. A fenologia foi avaliada por uma escala fenológica com 13 estádios. A exigência térmica foi definida pelo cálculo do acúmulo de graus-dia (GD) desde o estádio de gema inchada até a colheita. A cultivar BRS Carmen apresentou o ciclo mais longo, sendo influenciada pelo porta-enxerto, IAC 766 e Paulsen 1103 apresentaram resultados opostos para duração do ciclo. A cultivar Concord foi mais estável, não sofrendo influência do porta-enxerto sobre o ciclo e sobre a demanda térmica nas duas safras avaliadas. A duração do ciclo fenológico na safra 2012/2013 foi menor se comparada à primeira safra. A exigência térmica de BRS Carmem foi influenciada pelos diferentes porta-enxertos, Concord não apresentou esta influencia, e os resultados para cultivar Bordô não foram consistentes.

RESUMO -O período de colheita de amora-preta ocorre de novembro a fevereiro nos estados do Sul do Brasil, onde se concentra a maior área de cultivo do País. Sabendo-se que frutas ofertadas fora do pico da safra possuem preços mais vantajosos, objetivou-se escalonar a colheita da amoreira-preta através da realização da poda hibernal em diferentes épocas, levando-se em conta o número de horas de frio e os grausdia acumulados. O presente trabalho foi conduzido na Fazenda Experimental São Manuel, no município de São Manuel-SP. Foram utilizadas plantas de amoreira-preta "Tupy", de 3 anos de idade, conduzidas em 4 hastes principais, em espaldeira em T, com 1,2 metro de altura. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o esquema fatorial 2x5, constando de 2 sistemas de cultivo (não irrigado e irrigado) e de 5 tratamentos (épocas de poda: 20-05, 26-06, 24-07, 23-08 e 26-09), com repetições em blocos. A irrigação não alterou a duração do ciclo da amoreira-preta, mas proporcionou aumento na produtividade, independentemente das épocas de poda. Quanto maior o número de horas de frio acumulado, menor o ciclo e menor a necessidade em graus-dia da amoreira-preta 'Tupy'. A poda hibernal realizada em 20-05 proporcionou um pico de colheita de amora-preta em meados de setembro, em São Manuel -SP. Termos para indexação: Rubus sp, produção, graus-dia, ciclo, qualidade. THERMAL REQUIREMENT AND PRODUCTIVITY IN BLACKBERRY-FUNCTION TIMES OF PRUNINGABSTRACT -November and February are the harvest season for blackberry at the southern states of Brazil, where is the largest cultivation area in the country. It is Known that the fruit offered outside the harvest season has higher prices, so the present study aimed to stagger the harvest season for blackberry, by performing the winter pruning at different time, taking into account the number of hours exposed to cold temperatures and accumulated degree-days. This study was conducted at the Fazenda Experimental São Manuel, at São Manuel-SP. It was used blackberry plants cv. Tupy, 3 years old, conducted in 4 main stems in espalier in T, with 1.2 meters high. The experimental design was a 2x5 factorial arrangement, with two cropping systems (irrigated and non-irrigated) and 5 treatments (pruning times: 05/20, 06/26, 07/24, 08/23 and 09/26) with blocks repetitions. Irrigation did not alter the cycle of blackberry, but resulted in higher productivity independent of pruning time. The higher the number of chilling hours accumulated, the lower the cycle and the need for day-degrees of the blackberry 'Tupy'. The winter pruning held on 05/20 provided the highest blackberry harvest in mid-September, at São Manuel -SP.

-The objective of this work was to estimate the plastochron index of the 'Cabernet Sauvignon' and 'Chardonnay' grapevine varieties in Fronteira Oeste, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The experiment was conducted in 2010, in a completely randomized design, using 'Cabernet Sauvignon' and 'Chardonnay' grapevines grown in the municipalities of Itaqui, São Borja, and Maçambará, which were referred to as sites 1, 2, and 3, respectively. Phenological monitoring of the varieties was done from the beginning of sprouting until the pruning of canes (green trimming). The daily thermal sum (dTS, o C day) was calculated using the cardinal temperatures for node appearance in grapevines (10, 25, and 35ºC), whereas the accumulated thermal sum (aTS, o C day) was obtained by adding up the dTS. The plastochron index was estimated by the inverse of the angular coefficient of the linear regression between the number of nodes per cane and aTS. In all three sites, both 'Cabernet Sauvignon' and 'Chardonnay' required degree-days of 10°C and aTS of 810ºC to complete the cycle from the beginning of sprouting until the end of flowering. The estimated plastochron indexes of the 'Cabernet Sauvignon' and 'Chardonnay' grapevines, in Fronteira Oeste, in the state Rio Grande do Sul, were 40.4 and 49.7ºC day per node, respectively.Index terms: Vitis vinifera, degree-days, plant development, temperature, thermal sum, viticulture. Realizou-se o monitoramento fenológico das variedades desde o início da brotação até a realização da desponta dos ramos. A soma térmica diária (STd, o C dia) foi calculada a partir das temperaturas cardinais para o aparecimento de nós em videira (10, 25 e 35ºC), enquanto a soma térmica acumulada (STa, ºC dia) foi obtida pela soma da STd. O plastocrono foi estimado pelo inverso do coeficiente angular da regressão linear entre o número de nós por sarmento e a STa. Nos três locais, tanto 'Cabernet Sauvignon' como 'Chardonnay' necessitaram de graus-dia de 10°C e STa de 810°C para completar o ciclo desde o início da brotação até o fim da floração. Os plastocronos estimados das variedades 'Cabernet Sauvignon' e 'Chardonnay', na Fronteira Oeste do Rio Grande do Sul, foram de 40,4 e 49,7ºC dia por nó, respectivamente.Termos para indexação: Vitis vinifera, graus-dia, desenvolvimento da planta, temperatura, soma térmica, viticultura.
