Perfilhamento, área foliar e produtividade do milho sob diferentes arranjos espaciais

Abstract: were assessed, as well as the tiller contribution to these characters. In 2007/2008, there was no water deficit, LAI values were higher than 7, and tillers contributed with 65% of total LAI at the lowest plant density. In this year, grain yield average (13.7 Mg ha -1 ) was not affected by treatments, and tillers contributed with 44% of total yield at the density of three plants per square meter. In 2008/2009, there was water deficit before flowering and during grain filling, which decreased tillering and tille… Show more

“…However, the spacing did not affect the corn grain yield in a study recently done by Sangoi et al (2011), because according to Argenta et al (2001) and Strieder et al (2008) the effects of this cultural practice depend on the hybrid and the level of technology used.…”

“…However, the increase in N rates requires the split of nitrogen fertilization to enhance the increase in yield (Von Pinho et al, 2008). The use of higher nitrogen rates, adequate plant density and sowing speed may increase the corn yield without changing the spacing between lines (Alvarez et al, 2006;Trezzi et al, 2008;Alvarez et al, 2009;Kappes et al, 2011;Sangoi et al, 2011). The reduction in spacing requires suitable platforms for harvesting, therefore the farmer needs to modify or acquire new platforms to harvest in reduced spacings , which results in increased costs.…”

“…Hiper and super early hybrids with erect leaves and short plant height are more responsive to crowding than early hybrids with flagged leaves (Strieder et al, 2008). When grown in low densities, P30F53YH has the ability to emit productive tillers which can also contribute to decrease plant density effects on grain yield (Sangoi et al, 2011). Table 2.…”

“…It should be pointed out that plants subjected to the highest levels of spatial non-uniformity showed the lowest values of yield components and that the adjusted linear models showed irreversible damages on plants. Therefore, it is not sufficient to establish the desired population; the spacing between plants in the row becomes essential to obtain high grain yields (Sangoi et al, 2011;2012).…”
