Comparative studies on the biology and filarial susceptibility of selected blood-feeding and autogenous Aedes togoi sub-colonies

“…Unfortunately, the approach is only applicable to situations where the mosquito population has no structure in physiological age or stage composition and all gonotrophic cycles are of identical duration (Davidson, 1954;Briet, 2002). To overcome these limitations, others methods based on mark-release-recapture have been developed to assess demographic parameters of mosquitoes (Service, 1995;Clements and Paterson, 1981;Junkum et al, 2003).
