The species Campomanesia adamantium and C. pubescens present a great morphological variability, with the existence of morphotypes and the indication of a possible hybridization process occurring between them. Thus, the aim of this study was to characterize the Campomanesia adamantium species and morphotypes of species Campomanesia pubescens through palynological reviews and with the use of molecular markers to assist the taxonomic description of the species. The plant material was collected in the experimental field of Federal University of Jataí, in bloom of 2014, and analyzes were performed in the Morphology Laboratory of Plant Taxonomy and in the Laboratory of Genetics and Plant Breeding belonging to the same institution. Analysis of scanning electron microscopy was performed at the Federal University of Lavras. Important information was found that reinforce the possibility of cross between Campomanesia adamantium and Campomanesia pubescens, generating morphotypes intermediaries, indicating a possible hybridisation process. It can be concluded that Campomanesia adamantium is farthest from the morphotype 2 from Campomanesia pubescens, and morphotypes 1 and 3 are intermediate between them, possibly being hybrids.

Genipa americana L., commonly known as genipap, belongs to the Rubiaceae family. This study aimed to describe the pollen morphology of the species, evaluate its meiotic behavior and pollen viability, and provide information to help the maintenance and conservation of the species in its natural habitat. Flower buds were collected from 20 individuals in Alta Floresta and Matupá municipalities, Mato Grosso, Brazil. Pollen morphology was characterized using acetolysis and compared to existing literature. Meiotic and post-meiotic phases were analyzed using 2% acetocarmine stain, and pollen viability was estimated using Sudan IV, Alexander's stain, Lugol's solution (1%), and 2% acetocarmine stain. G. americana has medium-sized, 3-colporate pollen with reticulated exine and few meiotic irregularities. Acetocarmine stain showed the highest mean percentage of pollen viability (97.96%). Stain tests revealed significant differences, indicating high pollen viability and meiotic regularity. However, conservation and recovery of degraded areas are still necessary as there is no guarantee of successful reproduction due to factors associated with fragmentation, genetic drift, reduced gene flow, and inbreeding.

Palynology of peaty sediments from the high course of Cará Brook Creek, Coxilha Rica, Santa Catarina, Brazil. This paper presents the results of the palynological study of a sedimentary core collected in a bog in the upper part valley of Cará Brook Creek, in the cultural territory of Coxilha Rica, located in the Campos Gerais Plateau in Santa Catarina, Southern Brazil. The base of the core was dated in 6.900 14C years BP (7,845–7,690 cal years BP). The identification of the palynomorphs and the cluster analysis made possible to define two distinct palynological phases, despite the predominance of grassland vegetation throughout the whole core. From 34 cm, the frequency of bryophytes decreases, accompanied by the increase of the diversity of all vegetal taxa. Throughout the core, the most frequent families are Poaceae, Cyperaceae Apiaceae. The results indicate that the landscape of the upper course of the Brook Creek was characterized by grasslands from 6,900 14C years BP under a regional and humid climate, with a temperature increase in the historical period.
