Estudos sôbre índice de siclemia

Abstract: O índice de sinclêmicos encontrado foi de 10%, examinando-se uma amostra heterógenea de 1130 indivíduos de grupo étnico negróide e mestiços desta etnia. Foi negativa a pesquisa em 120 indivíduos caucasóides e 30 mongolóides. O "índice familiar de siclêmicos" - a percentagem desses indivíduos em um grupo de famílias - fornece um resultado mais proximo do verdadeiro número de siclêmicos em uma amostra de população. “…The rapid method of Itano & Pauling as described by Dacie (1954) was used, either on freshly drawn blood or on suspended cells after transport. The reducing solution was prepared anew twice daily, In agreement with Boturao 1952), Boturao & Boturao (1947), Frecorn (1947) and da Silva (1945Silva ( , 1949, no sicklers were discovered in the two Indian samples nor were there any among the Japanese.
