“…They accordingly renamed Schneider's species as Oxysomatium longespiculum and placed Zeder's species in a new genus Aplecta (subsequently found to be pre-occupied and amended to Aplectana, and made Ascaris acuminata Schrank, 1788 as its type. Skrjabin (1916) recognized Zeder's species 0. brevicaudatum as the type of the genus Oxysomatium and included four other species, 0. contortum (v. Linstow, 1906), 0. unguiculatum (v. Linstow, 1906, 0. perezi (Gendre, 1911) and 0. dogieli Skrjabin, 1916. Miranda (1924 regarded Aplectana as the valid genus and included in it his species A. pusilla, together with Ascaris unguiculatus Rudolphi, 1819 and Leptodera membranosa Schneider, 1866.…”
