Abstract: At public health, there is increasingly interest on evaluating the possibility of human intoxication by biotoxins from blue-green algae, mainly the hepatotoxins from the microcystin group. Microcystin, a monocyclic heptapeptide, is mainly produced by a cyanobacteria called Microcistis aeruginosa.
