Atividade moluscicida da mistura de ácidos 6-n-alquil salicílicos (ácido anacárdico) e dos seus complexos com cobre (II) e chumbo (II)

Abstract: The molluscicide activity of hexanic extract from Anacardium occidentale L. (cashew) nut shell, of copper (II) complex, of lead (II) complex and anacardic acid has been compared in the laboratory in an attempt to obtain better stability than anacardic acid. This was obtained from the hexanic extract of the cashew nut shell by precipitation with lead (II) hydroxide or cupric sulfate plus sodium hydroxide or (II) cupric hydroxide followed by treatment of lead (II) complex with a diluted solution of sulfuric acid… Show more

“…The anacardic acids are interesting phenolic compounds due to their wide bioactivities, such as antibacterial [ 12 ], antioxidant, larvicide, and acetylcholinesterase activities [ 3 ]. Furthermore, it is a potent insecticide and molluscicide [ 13 ], an inhibitor of several enzymes [ 14 , 15 ]. Anacardic acid functions are also potent tumor angiogenesis inhibitors by targeting the Src/FAK/Rho GTPase signaling pathway, leading to significant suppression of prostate tumor growth [ 4 ].…”

“…Anacardic acids, one of the phytochemical constituents of cashew extract, has been shown to curb the darkening effect of aging by inhibiting tyrosinase activities and kill certain cancer cells[10]. Mendes[10] has documented a wide range of chemicals isolated and identified from cashew.…”

“…Metal complexes were synthesised using cobalt chloride hexahydrate, copper sulphate pentahydrate, and zinc acetate dihydrate using a modified method of Mendes et al 21 Cardol (C2), together with its nitrated compound were used as binders at a stoichiometric ratio of 1:1 under constant magnetic stirring.…”
